Hire the Hall

The Public Hall is available for hire for all sorts of events, from private parties to plays, from dances to business meetings. There are three main spaces available;

The Main Hall (18m x 11m + balcony), which has a foyer, stage, dressing rooms, bar area and kitchen.
Meeting Room 1 (6m x 4.3m).
Meeting Room 2 (9m x 4.5m).

Both meeting rooms have wi-fi, access to toilet facilities and have tables and chairs. In addition Meeting Room 2 has a wall-mounted screen for use with overhead or computer projectors, a wall-mounted white board and a flip chart.

Direct access from the Meeting Rooms to the back stage areas of the Main Hall make them suitable for use as dressing rooms for larger shows.

The Main Hall

The main hall can seat up to 270 depending on the layout and can be set up for theatrical presentations, dinners, dances, meetings or pretty much anything you want. The excellent dance floor receives praise from everyone who uses it, while the well-equipped stage is approx. 9m x 6m.

The kitchen has two gas cookers and a warming oven, as well as fridges, coolers, a dish-washer and large stainless steel preparation surfaces. We can also arrange bar and catering services if required.

Equipment

The stage is equipped with a selection of single and double tracks for tabs or cloths. Combined show relay and paging system to dressing rooms, bar and front of house. In-house telephone system connecting backstage, dressing rooms, foyer, lighting and sound area and kitchen/bar. Comprehensive selection of stage lighting available, including 500W/1kW profile, fresnel and PC spotlights, 500W floodlights, LED Parcans and 2kW follow spots. Zero88 Orb XF lighting desk. 54 circuits patchable through 30 dimmer channels. 7 pre-wired lighting bars (3 on-stage, 2 foh transverse, 2 foh side bars). Stereo sound system comprising 2 x Electro Voice stereo amplifiers, 2 x fixed foh speakers (Electro Voice ZX5), 2 x foldback/sound reinforcement speakers (Electro Voice ZX1), 2 ceiling-mounted speakers to the balcony area, Allen & Heath Zed 22FX mixer, Soundcraft Notepad124 mixer, Shure SM58 microphones (leaded and radio). Allen and Heath SQ5 digital sound desk and active monitirs are available at additional cost.

Accessibility

The main hall, foyer, toilets, bar and kitchen are all on one level with no steps from the street making the whole area wheelchair accessible. There is a disabled toilet off the entrance foyer and limited disabled parking in front of the building.

Although the meeting rooms are at first floor level there is a wheelchair lift provided and a disabled toilet at first floor level.
